The Oklahoma Council on Economic Education (OCEE) is a 501(c)3, not-for-profit, non-political, non-partisan, educational organization whose mission is promoting economic and personal financial literacy for all Oklahomans. OCEE is the designated partner with the Oklahoma State Department of Education to implement HS 1476: Oklahoma’s Passport to Financial Literacy.
Established in 1954, OCEE is affiliated with the Council for Economic Education – an international network of state councils and university-based centers.
- We train teachers to teach economic concepts, free enterprise education and basic financial management skills in grades K-12. Investing in teachers has proven to be the most effective and efficient means of reaching our state’s young people.
- We help teachers prepare students for their economic roles as workers, consumers, citizens and life-long decision-makers in a globally interdependent world.
- Our goal is reaching all students in Oklahoma, ensuring they understand basic economic principles and how to manage their financial resources. Both are keys to the growth and development of our State.
With record-setting bankruptcies, concerns about jobs, and the need for a quality workforce, our kids need a basic understanding of economics and personal finance – now more than ever!
This Web Site is developed to correlate a variety of teacher resources with the standards in Personal Financial Literacy.
